• The second Learn at Home Packet is still available for pick up at the school from 9am-1pm every day this week.

• We have been approved to use Zoom until a replacement has been recommended. Zoom Meetings will continue, starting next week.

Weekly Foundational Read-Aloud: 

Up in the Garden, Down in the Dirt by Kate Messner

Questions to ask your child in response to the read-aloud:

• The words in this book make a pattern. We hear about things that are up in the garden, down in the dirt, then up and back down again. The pattern is up, down and up, down and up, down. Can you find another pattern somewhere in your home?

Write a Letter

Invite your child to write a letter to someone. They can draw pictures to create the letter, use their own writing, or share their words with you and you can write for them. If your child chooses to write on their own, celebrate any mark they make. Marks, scribbles, and creative spelling are all essential steps in learning to write. If possible, share the letter with the person your child wrote to.

Open ended questions:

• I notice that you ____. 
• That reminds me of ____. 
• What if you try ____? 
• How could we find out _____?

Have your child draw a picture of their favorite plant that they eat.
