Supply List for the 2016 - 2017 School Year!

Hello Parents!
I am so excited to be teaching your little ones this year! I would love to take this time to introduce myself.  My Name is Kelly McGarry.  I have been lucky enough to work with preschool aged children for the past six years.  I am currently enrolled at Hunter College, pursuing a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. 
My mission is to provide every student with a quality pre-kindergarten experience. I wish to create a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment, which fosters individual growth and independence.
I can’t wait to meet you all!



I am providing the supply list for the 2016-2017 school year.

Required:
At least one (1) change of clothes (including shirt, pants, underwear, socks, and shoes).
Three (3) packs of white copy paper

Recommended:
Three (3) Packages of Baby / Handi Wipes
Three (3) Boxes of Tissues
Two (2) Bottles of Hand Sanitizer 
Picture of your family

Week of June 20th!

Please join us for the Pre-K 4 Moving up ceremony! 

  • Students can dress up in any clothes they like. 
  • Each family can bring a maximum of four people to the moving up ceremony. 
  • Lunch will be provided for parents and students following the ceremony.

Week of June 13th!

June – Transition to Kindergarten!

For the next week, students will explore their feelings about transitioning into Kindergarten.  As we discuss this transition, students will share their thoughts on what they will experience during the upcoming school year.

Some of the books we will be reading this week are:

      Kindergarten Countdown by Anna Jane Hays
      Adventure Annie Goes to Kindergarten by Toni Buzzeo
      The Pirate of Kindergarten by George Ella Lion
      The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn



Lessons and activities for the theme:

Math – Students will be able to use rulers, the balance, and start to work on simple adding and subtracting problems.
Art – Children will have access to all art materials in order to create a kindergarten classroom.
Blocks – Students will be shown pictures of different classrooms and be able to build what their next classroom might look like.
Pretend Play– Students will take turns being the teacher and creating a kindergarten classroom.
Writing/ iPad- Students will be able to play learning games related to the theme on the iPad.
Library- Students will have access to books about kindergarten.
Science - Students will be able to work with their classmates to complete a science folder game.
Sensory Table - Sand and Water


Reminders:

  • School will be CLOSED every Friday in June!
  •  Pre-K 4 Graduation is Wednesday, June 22nd at 11:00 a.m!
  • Children are to come to school at 10:45 a.m. on the 22nd.
