The link for the read aloud of this week's foundational text, The Feelings Book by Todd Parr is located HERE.
Create a family book! You can choose what type of information to include in the book. Ideas include the people in your family, where relatives live, things you likes to do together, favorite foods, languages spoken, family heritage, traditions, celebrations, pets, information about your home, etc. Children can choose how to illustrate the book (i.e. drawings, photographs, pictures from magazines, etc.).
Unit Topic:
- All About Us
- Who am I and who are the people in my life?
- What feelings do I have and why?
In small groups, children will be introduced to an interactive feelings chart. Children will be able to match how they are feeling. The chart will become part of the morning routine but will also be available for children to access throughout the day as desired.
