The link for the read aloud of this week's foundational text, I Love Saturdays y domingos by Alma Flor Ada is located HERE.
Create a family book! You can choose what type of information to include in the book. Ideas include the people in your family, where relatives live, things you likes to do together, favorite foods, languages spoken, family heritage, traditions, celebrations, pets, information about your home, etc. Children can choose how to illustrate the book (i.e. drawings, photographs, pictures from magazines, etc.).
Unit Topic:
- All About Us
- Who am I and who are the people in my life?
- What makes my family important and unique?
In small groups, children will be introduced to an interactive job chart in the circle time area. Children will be able to see their weekly classroom job. The chart will become part of the daily routine by consistently going over each student's job during different times of the day.
- PK.SOC.3: Demonstrates an understanding of roles, rights, and responsibilities.
