Week of October 5th

October Theme – Clothes

For the next six weeks, students will learn about clothes.  We will be discussing how to put on and take off clothes, comparing clothes, and adding clothing details to their drawings.

Some of the books we will be reading are:

•Go Away Big Green Monster by Ed Emberley

•Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina

•Uncle Nacho’s Hat by Harriet Rohmer

Lessons and activities for the week: 

Math – Students will use cubes to measure different articles of clothes.

Blocks – Students will have scarves in the block area to carry and cover blocks.

Art – Children will have materials for making clothing collages.

Pretend Play – Students will have multiple clothing sets to dress dolls.

Listening – Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina.
